I have been there about 2 years, and only got 1300 words studied. There are people there done with the whole Core 2k and 6k courses in that time or less.

I used to write out sentences and try to figure out how each sentence worked. Stopped doing that and went to just writing out words. Went from 10 items a session to 5, and do about 30 words a day.

How should I be approaching this? I had thought taking my time with it would be best, but if I'm going to be hearing and reading all the words in real stuff eventually, why bother and just not rush through it?

On the same note, should I bother with Dictation at all or just focus on the main app? The only use I can see for Brainspeed is to practice reading fast.

Are you doing it for a set amount everyday?

It doesn't matter how much you study if you are not consistent.

Dictation is wonderful. I suggest doing what the site says, and do at least one dication session per day.

Yeah I do it everyday. Not dictation though.

I only utilize smart.fm for the sentence pages to aid in listening comprehension.
I stopped using iknow applications several months ago and haven't used dictation since week one because of transliteration errors. Not sure if that is fixed yet.

pace is a personal thing. just do what you like. do you like to fly through many items without a firm grasp? or do you like to focus on fewer things but know them thoroughly? probably however you're doing it is how you should be doing it.

is anyone still reviewing at smart.fm? their new app seems to space reviews too far, but the old flash app spaces them too close and gives too many hints (sentence is read to you, multiple choice...). i've been holding out on moving to anki since i don't want to lose my scheduling data.
