have someone hold a gun to your head and if you don't learn X amount of words in a day, they will pull the trigger... now that's motivation

lol. That is extreme. Right now i have 5 decks. Trying to keep it constant. I think i'll do that reading-listening method. But only problem is that definitely take some time to do. I.e. preparing subtitles, etc But it does improving the flow of reading, listening, understanding
Now that i think about it, the other thread is similar. But i think that thread wasn't really the best, as it wasn't direct in asking a question. This is just talking about certain methods that can increase learning hence "extreme". But yea this can get confusing, as there so similar

How about Olympic ski jumping and kanji? You don't use poles so your hands are free to hold the Heisig book while you fly through the air. You can score yourself by adding up your distance and the number of kanji you learned - (120 m + 20 new kanji = 140 points!).
Bobsled or luge + kanji might be interesting too. God forbid if you encounter a difficult kanji and lose focus...

Oh i wasn't referring to the links of audiobooks. I was just referring to literally getting subtitles of a drama episode and just try follow+listen along to what they are saying.

Of course if you put more time in you learn more and putting in a huge amount of time is in itself "extreme".I´m gonna try it
Maybe you could try doing extreme sports at the same time as learning Japanese?

Skateboarding + japanese,
once I practiced flips and counted from one to hundred in japanese
