Seirei no Moribito

#1
I am a big fan of this animation and was extreamly happy when I found out that it was adapted from a book.

Has anyone read these books in Japanese that can give me the run down on the difficulty of it? Or have some sample pages hidden somwhere. It shouldnt be overly difficult as it is a "kids" book, but then agian harry potter is a kids book and I find it hard to read (in Japanese!)

I haven't read the Moribito series but I've read another book by Uehashi Nahoko, "Kemono no Souja," and I found it fairly easy to read. A little bit easier than Harry Potter in Japanese, or Diana Wynne Jones in Japanese, or some of the easier adult authors I read (Murakami Haruki, Yoshimoto Banana, Sakuraba Kazuki). It's a compelling story, too; I recommend it.

Oh, I love Shinchousha! Go to their page for Seirei no Moribito (http://www.shinchosha.co.jp/book/130272/) and click on the 立ち読み link. You can read several sample pages there.

With that format, though, you can't tell if the book has furigana or not. That makes a huge difference to me right now in how easy the book is. (I'm working hard to get through this stage, but it takes time and I need entertainment. Now. ;D )

Yeah, it does make a huge difference.

The Moribito series doesn't have furigana (I paged through it a little at the bookstore the other day) but Uehashi's "Kemono no Souja" does have furigana on everything. Aotori Bunko publishes a lot of novels for elementary-school students that are amply supplied with furigana.

Ah yeah furigana is always a bonus, maybe I will go with what you suggested and get "Kemono no Souja"

I didnt want to make a new thread, but then agian this is just as bad. And yes I did do a search for the answer and did not find one.

I find that im really getting held back because unlike other people I cant get torrents to work so its near impossible for me to get raw anime.

Basically does anyone know where I can get ANY direct download raw anime, its really driving me nuts that I cant get any japanese programs because of my ISP. I know there is a forum rule agianst this but I really am desperate.

I know there is some places that do a few raws for new anime but none for old anime.

Perhaps you should take a look at what kinds of IRC DCC bots some of those fansubbers have available. I know on rizon there's lots of bots like this.

It has furigana? that's not bad. I need to get some japanese books soon. I only have manga books, need variety! Furigana would be a plus

I'm going to find a clever way to 'not' post Japanese books without offending the mods, and with the evolution of my acquisition skills, these might include things the OP and ta1212121212121 might find interesting, as well as Burritolingus and even Nukemarine. The package is not yet ready, however.

For the record, if you kept track of the batches to 'avoid' mentioned in the last cpl pages of raseru's 'my study method' thread, you'd have found plenty of stuff besides light novels to 'not' read. I will try and find a more obvious yet also more innocuous way to point out those again, including a batch 05.

If you need help to find download sites with Google, you need to switch off the computer and go back to pen and paper Wink

The books are easy to find (I mostly buy mine) its the anime I struggle with, when looking for raw anime its 99% torrent or maybe 1 ddl (direct download) and thats it.
I really wish I could find them to use for subs2srs.

Trust me when I say I have really looked on google alot and only found a very small pile, verrryy small. Maybe I have been looking in the wrong places, but that happens to the best of us.

lol sorry. Must have been sleepy since i had to wake up early for a morning class, just re-read what you wrote. I get what you're saying exactly. Yea i did download the study pack that was provided from "My Study method" thread. Electronic version of mangas+novels are better , well in terms of srs interesting things.

Actually it wasn't that particular pack that I was referring to.

I'm totally not looking forward to not downloading that. And when I don't, I'm definitely not going to figure out a way to analyze that shiznit for word frequency. (Was that one too many negatives in there? I'm not very good at this yet.)

Ahem, and just so we're clear, you hopefully read this post, particularly the second paragraph...
