I like how on the newsmanga website, the android app is advertised on an iPhone cutout... >_>a
My real problem is now that I have a 32GB flash card in my N1... I want a 64GB flash card. XD I wish they'd hurry up and make one. (Although I wonder if the N1 could even handle one without a firmware update.)

I have that "more locale" app, but I select japanese and the phone continues mostly in english (japanese only on a few apps and internet).
How can I put the phone fully in japanese?
Please help me.

Using Simeji keyboard... Is there an easy way to get the hyphen-like character for long katakana vowels? For example, メッセージ. I am now pressing the symbol key and searching for it, but it seems to me that there ought to be an easier and more direct way?
Thanks much

Does anyone know if there is an app for android that will play mp3s, and let you slow them down to say 80 or 90%? I used to do this occasionally when I was using a windows mobile device and found it surprisingly useful. If it adjusted the pitch also that would be better, but even without that, it is interesting how quickly the brain adapts.

LOVE using my android!
Now I am almost exclusively using it for my anki sentence reps, and have a few other goodies to use such as the wwwjdic app, aedict, and a few others I am trying out.
Skype for android is phenomenal, I haven't bothered to get a new headset yet, but can just use skype on my phone, using my wife, and the phone itself to talk, it's like actually being on the phone without the need to be at the computer! ( no more saying hold on every time i need to step away )
I've already used it to talk with a japanese buddy, and if all else fails, I have a headset for the phone too ^_^

AnkiDroid just got a big release recently and 0.5.1 should be available directly from the market. There is no need to use any beta now since this is the newest and stable release. Since beta18 the app was really stable, sync working properly and its compatible with latest desktop Anki. There were a few iterations after that, each brining other minor improvements/fixes so overall its best to move on to this official build.
In other news, I've finally upgraded my Spica to Froyo thanks to CyanogenMod and discovered that in this build (from Android Kitchen) Japanese is available as a language (it wasn't on my previous Eclair based SamdroidMod). It works great so far and even on my level of Japanese it's easy enough to use it.

I want to see dramas on my hero, with subs. What video player do you recommend? I already tried 2 and none worked "rockplayer" and "mvideo player". With or without subs.
Btw, I have more locale, put my Hero in japanese but most of the stuff stays in english (only android market really becomes japanese) :/
Is there any other app to put it in japanese, fully?

Do you know of any Japanese RPG's for the android? Nothing fancy, just something like the old final fantasys (I-IV)?

This is probably a really stupid question, but how do I install a Japanese font to display when I'm using anki?

I installed morelocale2 and switched to Japanese - that didn't help me with fonts. I later uninstalled. I believe you can easily copy an appropriate font to the font direcectory if the phone is 'rooted'. I haven't done this as of yet. If you discover anything else helpful, please let me know.
Also, there is an app called galaxy fonts, which seems to work very well (at least on my phone) at installing new fonts. But there have been some concerns from people who have written reviews about the fact that this app includes in its required permissions - the permission to make phone calls. No other app I have come across requests this! What I did was download it , install fonts, then uninstall the app. The remaining fonts (which also can be uninstalled if I choose) have no special permissions attached to them. I hope this is sufficient caution. Anyway - the guy has quite a few fonts available, but so far none in Japanese, though he said he could do Japanese fonts if requested.

A few posts back, I wrote that I had tried the app Astroplayer and found it useful. However, this is the other app that I have tried that seems to have very strange permissions requested. These include..
Full internet acess ( this is commonly needed eg downloading album art) Read and write to SD card (also commonly needed)
Modify global systems settings*, read system log files*
Read contact data, write contact data
Use authentication credentials of an account, Google app engine, access other Google services**
Again, these* ** are really not the norm and don't make a lot of sense to me, though there may be valid reasons for them ?? I went so far as to get rid of it. There seems to be the potential, that if I updated it , manually or by allowing automatic updates, with those permissions in place it would have the ability to do nasty things if malicious code was added in the updates (even assuming that it has been behaving nicely up until now?)
Am I being too paranoid? If there are valid reasons for ** does anyone know what they might be?
I am trying to be a even more careful after reading a recent article
