Dope Japanese Hip-Hop

Thanks a lot! Much appreciated.

Wow I just found out today that AraabMuzik (of the Diplomats) released a Japanese album last year. He and DJ Munari produced all the tracks and had a bunch of Japanese rappers on it. It also has Kool G. Rap and Prodigy on some songs.

You can find that on Ongaku Eternal.

It's a very vague memory of a song, but one I'm looking to find again. It's some hip hop video with a guy who basically wakes up and sings his way through his day and talks about his girl or something. I sort of remember the cover for the single was very blue. Good luck with that haha. I actually sorta hated the song but it was kind of amusing to me. Relatively new too nothing old.

Been blasting VIC Tomorrow, Hero the SZ, Lamp Eye and Yotsukaido Nature EPs, Next Level Vol. 1 EP, Rhymester "Plus Alpha" EP, and Kojoe's "I Need More" all week. I'll have to change my top 15 to include VIC Tomorrow and Hero the SZ in there. It's like I went full circle w/ Hero the SZ, since the first Japanese hip hop I heard were from that album (back when WinMX was around). Yotsukaido Nature is to me in a similar vein of Naked Artz, they drop a classic album and EPs, then no more albums. Then again, I wish Lamp Eye actually dropped a LP, that'd be awesome.

@Realism - I'll try to check that one out on Ongaku Eternal, especially since Kool G Rap is on there (one of my favorite rappers ever).

KREVA, is it possible to reup the Soul Scream The Positive Gravity and Buddha Brand one (when you have the chance to)? I try the links and they said it expired. Thanks in advance!

This is another surprisingly good album

It's an all-female group, even the producer is a female, but her beats are really good. There is no pop stuff here, it's all Hip-Hop.

Rare to see a female producer making good beats like that.

Actually those had already been re-uploaded by me, but I forgot to replace them on the blog. I just did it.

@Realism - I checked out that Derella album, its solid. Im surprised by the good production, need more female producers like DJ Yoko. Hopefully one day Coma-Chi will rap through a whole album with her beats through a collab or something.

@KREVA Thank you, you are the man, sir. I will check those two out later. All of these gems on your blog.

Damn, I just found out Maki the Magic, from the legendary crew Kierumakyuu just died yesterday from a brain hemorrhage. Sad time for Japanese hip-hop. Maki will be missed.

Just checked it out. Far from his best. I remember Black Rain leaving a better impression on me.

Maria from SIMI LAB also released an album recently called Detox. She's got a cool flow, but I wasn't feeling a lot of the beats (and her singing) on her album.

This is a pretty big thread so I don't know where to look, but does anyone have access to songs by Ryuzo? I really like this song but he isn't on Jpopsuki.

That track is off his Message album. Ryuzo message is on itunes and on the ongaku eternal forum.
Other Ryuzo albums are on ongaku eternal as well.

Kojoe 51st State is a solid album, "No Country", "I Need More", and "Yamato Damashii" are amazing.
Another solid one is that M-IC "City Lights Boox" album. Wheel 2 Sense is insane.

Need to find that キエる マキュウ Peep Show album and the Hakoniwa one.

Thanks for the heads up to ongaku eternal, between that and J-Urban I now have enough Japanese Hip-Hop to last a lifetime.

Anyone got any good blogs for modern jhiphop?

Ryuzo's first album "Document" is his best one, make sure you pick that one up as well.

If the songs you're looking for are on YouTube, you can use this little thing: http://www.youtube-mp3.org/ . Very useful and very fast Smile
