In case anyone is interested, i updated the spreadsheet to include the correct sound files. So if you don't want to go through the whole process of importing from smart.fm into anki and want your core 2000+6000 deck to have a separate field for vocab (very useful imo), you can use these files.

I also put it on Anki's shared decks. Name is "Core 2000 and 6000 Vocabulary and Sentences" The media files are not included so you have to get those yourself if you want them.

The easiest way to get the media is to just use the iKnow importer in anki (if it still works).

I have one question, what do you guys do with the synonyms?
For instance, if 上 pops up. I found in the card list that there are three cards with 上 on the front. The back of the cards are かみ, うえ and じょう. But how do you know then which of these 3 you have to answer? Did you guys merge these cards? Or you just answer all three readings when the card comes up?

I haven't run into this problem yet (i've been lazy and haven't added many cards).

I would say edit the cards and copy and paste the example sentence into the Vocab field. This should give you enough context.



Also someone pointed out that on 125 of the cards the example sentences and audio are one off, i updated the spreadsheet and shared deck a few days ago but if you got it before then they may still be messed up.

I would like to have the decks for core 6000 in steps like the ones of core 2000 in the shared decks

My suggestion would be to delete them/replace them with something else. Things like that lose meaning out of context.
