Is there such a thing? I was thinking about how nice it would be if there was a program that could produce a list of words from an audio file.
Wasn't there a program or website that transcribed or made a word list from Japanese podcasts?
edit: I'm not looking for podcasts that already come with transcriptions.

I would be very careful using such a program. It could definitely be a time saver, but it's obvious that it can and will make loads of errors, which can be hard for a beginner to catch, making for some great opportunities to learn fallacious Japanese.

And of course the bits a beginner is most likely to find hard to distinguish when listening (the faster, less well enunciated parts) are exactly the bits a program is likely to make errors in... (For an idea of where random untrained voice recognition currently is, look at how many transcription errors some of the podcasts on podcastle have fixed by humans after the fact: some individual episodes have several hundred corrections...)
