johnzep Wrote:gratzthank you very much sir, I'm actually surprised you didn't take level 2 this year. the example sentences you've been writing on the ALT forum are real impressive.
also good job with the translating at the meeting today
dihutenosa Wrote:whoa. looks like some people got theirs early. The people who took the test in Japan get their scores earlier than the States. A couple years ago I got mine like a week after my friends in Japan got theirs... last year it was a few weeks later. So if you took the test outside of Japan, hang in there... they're coming soon!
I'm in southern Cali, I haven't gotten mine back yet. Anyone in a similar position, don't panic - this is normal.

I take it you are aiming for 1 kyu next year?

Nukemarine Wrote:For those that passed JLPT 1 or 2, could you post your success stories in the "Congratulations, I just obtained Japanese Fluency" thread? In my opinion that's probably a waste of money. The only reason to PAY to take JLPT is to get the certificate itself. If you just want to evaluate your level etc just use a previous year's test for free. You also get the benefit of being able to take it when and where you want it instead of one specific day in December in a location that is possibly inconvenient.
Congratulations to all that took the JLPT regardless of the results. I plan on taking it this year without actively studying for it (more of a self test to see the effectiveness of AJATT and RTK). Passing a JLPT 2 and a DoD DLAB can hold some serious weight in getting additional credit at a California college system.
