Demonoid is back!

#1
I wanted to share with you this good news: the famous P2P site Demonoid is back!

TorrentFreak's Most Popular Torrent Sites of 2009; Demonoid Returns [BitTorrent]

Apparently there's been some data loss, but most probably if you had an account before the site went offline, you should be able to use the same username and login.

Good luck.

What's replacing torrents? Torrents have so far been the perfect solution to my downloading needs - I'd be really impressed if something was better.

Hooray for demonoid, and saving my ratio on private trackers

I love torrents too, but there are other options just as good if not better in many cases (japanese music dream, etc etc.).

But back on topic, does anyone know a way to get an account? I would love someone to give me an invite. Just tell me what I need to do!

(ps. if this request is not allowed on this site please remove it or tell me to remove it, I will gladly oblige)

I have an account but I don't use demonoid much. It's safer than piratebay but the quality isn't much better.

If anyone wants an invite, let me know and I'll see if Demonoid will allow me to milk some more out of them. Smile

...Oh man, just realized how wrong it sounds if you only read the last 9 words of the sentence...

Nuriko can you give me an invite to Demonoid. It will help me alot since it is becoming harder and harder to find raws of many animes and most of them seem to be from Demonoid.

Using P2P, so torrents as well are not allowed in Japan. To upload stuff (which you do with those programs is forbidden) and starting next year, downloading will be forbidden as well (even if it's a direct download).

Invites sent. Let's not fill up this topic with invite requests. If you want one, send a PM/email.

It's not illegal to use torrents in Japan at all, nor is it illegal to use any other form of P2P. It's illegal to break copyright laws and distribute copyrighted works, and will soon be illegal to download them too. However, there are many legitimate uses of p2p networks.

Well, but most things that are up- or downloaded break copyright laws.

Some more info about the new law can also be found here:

Although most of you are safe as you live outside of Japan anyway Wink

Yeah, but you can't monitor direct downloads (i.e, rapidshare and megaupload), can you?

I have no idea, but I hope so. I only use direct downloads here in Japan, I stopped using torrents since I came here.

Of course you can. All the data goes through your ISP so they can easily see that you downloaded something from a site. In all probability, they can see what it was too. So basically, if it was a password protected rar with an inconspicuous name, you're fine. Otherwise, you're probably still fine. But they can probably see it.

I'm pretty sure an ISP can't see what files you're downloading. Am I wrong? Oops. ;p

Talking of sharing knowledge... does anybody happen to have an extra invite for Bitme.org? I would really appreciate an invite, if you don't mind.
