"The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" (Mark 2:27)

My interpretation for that has always been that Sabbath was meant to be religion itself. Religion is meant to serve man(kind), not man serve religion. A religion's purpose is to guide people into being better people. Not for the worship of religion itself. I think it is dangerous to take anything literal from ancient religious texts. Much less follow them with blind faith.

The Son of God had 12 disciples. Religions predating Christianity also had a Sun with 12 Zodiac disciples. Jesus taught with the two fishes in the age of Pisces.
"A man will meet you carrying an earthen pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he goes in"(Luke 22:10). Anyone ever notice what paintings of Aquarius resemble?

I'm not a religious person and don't know what's going on in this thread, but how about getting back to the topic of this thread again?

The Japanese version of the NWT is designed so that illiterate people can learn kanji through reading it (at least mine was so). If I remember correctly, it basically has the reading for each kanji, but it deliberately drops readings when the same word has already appeared in a close place, e.g., if the exact same word appears twice in one sentence, you should guess its reading the second time.

It lacks "gravity" other popular Japanese Bible usually has because the Japanese NWT is virtually classical Japanese free and tends to use pretty common everyday words. You don't find a Japanese equivalent of "Thou shalt not troll religious people, for they always troll thee back harder. (magamo 1:1)" So if you like the serious atmosphere, the Japanese NWT isn't good for you.

I don't know if Bible is a good learning material, but if you're interested in it, it might work well for you.

This is a place where people come to learn and discuss language and stuff. I think it's more natural to take it as

"Which one is more accurate (to the original Greek and Hebrew text in a linguistic sense)?" than
"Which one is more accurate (to your interpretation in a religious sense)?"

And I don't want the OP to behave like he meant

"Which one is more accurate (to my interpretation, which is better than yours)?"

One version of Bible may have sentences that contradict your interpenetration, but if they're linguistically as justifiable as yours, the version is as accurate in this sense.

Yes, that's what I asked for. Unofrtunately, the most popular translations (other than the NW) are not faithful to the original texts. They are actually influenced by the Nicene Creed and other Hellenistic pagan elements.

The topic is about which translation is best for study, so if we get back on topic, we can discuss which versions are easier to read, which English translation they are most similar to for parallel texts, which versions are more modern...

As for the NWT, the English NWT is, of course, the most similar English translation to the Japanese NWT for parallel texts.
