Way off the mark

Knowing the keyword to a kanji can be helpful in guessing the meaning of a new word in a given context. For example I was able to guess that 安楽死 meant euthenasia... however when it came to 刺激 I thought the sentence was trying to tell me that there were many "violent stabbings" in a city as large as tokyo. In actual fact it means stimuli. LOL.

someone must have been having a bad day at the office when they decided that they needed to stab someone violently for a bit of stimulation. Then when after they had let off some steam and they were relaxed enough to never want to wake up again it was time to put euthenasia into kanji form they thought up the brilliant and very logical 安楽死 Easy, Pleasant, Death. Love it.
