cloze deletion for SRS cards to train problem areas?

#1
I've been upset about something that every young man gets upset about at a certain time in his life. I think sometimes we all feel a little bit inadequate in the particle department.

Even though my jp is pretty high level I still struggle with producing the correct particles when speaking and writing, just the same as everyone else. Does anyone here have experience with cloze deletion cards to help particle production? I'm worried that there will be too many possible "correct answers" where particles could be interchangeable, ostensibly "correct" but differing in meaning. I also don't want this to be like my stupid JP 101 tests back in college.

I want a good way to get rock and roll at the 4 biggies - が、は、を、に - I want to use them perfectly all the time, but it's hard to pick between them, particularly が and を. Was it 漢字を書ける or 漢字が書ける? Oh snap, talking with my friends doesn't help cuz we always leave them out when we get on a roll!

Cloze deletion cards for particles - good call or bald cat?

Depends, but it's not a bad call. I do cloze deletion on my grammar cards (Tae Kim) to good effect. On a few, part of the answer is getting the correct particle along with the verb.

Recently, with my vocabulary cards I thought of doing something similar, but only on the reading cards and only with verbs that may be transitive or intransitive. Not sure if I'll actually do it though. To much of a bother this late in the game.

I don't think you need to sweat distinguishing が or は seeing that dozens if not hundreds (of thousands) of posts talk about that.
