I finished RTK1 a couple of days ago. And I haven't really had time to do sentence minning. Because the reviews that pile up are taking most of my time. Some times they are around 200 and at other times 180. They are taking most of my time.
The fact that koohi goes down every sunday(when i try to get most of my reviews out of the way) doesnt help. Im just wondering. when will these reviews die down? Ive heard people on this forum who only have 30 reviews a day. how long does it take to get to that stage.
By the way i stopped srsing sentences with Ko2001 and have started srsing japanese core 2000 sentences. Because i think they are much more practically. what do guys recon on srsing sentences?

What do you mean it "goes down every sunday" ? Just right now there was a website update, so cheer up :p
Otherwise, there are daily backup scripts which run at 5am and 6am every day (central US time). These may make the site unavailable or really slow for a couple minutes.
About reviewing. Congratulations! You did the hardest part, which is to get the characters in your head. Keep on reviewing religiously for a couple weeks to make sure you learned the last ones properly, but after that, don't make reviewing a priority. Do fun stuff... Review as needed or when you want to. You will NOT remember all of them forever now, the point of RtK is that you learned how to remember them. So now if you find you forgot the less common kanji as you learn new vocabulary, just check your story again, or remove and re-add them in the Manage tab (if you're using this site), and you can review these more often for a couple weeks.

The message says that it'll be down for most of the day (because it's the same message from before, during the big site upgrade), and it was still saying it even though it sounds like you said that it was already up. I think there's something about how the pages are cached. I had to clear my browser and log back in and now I see that the site is up again. I was doing reviews not too long ago too so I can see that it was down for a short time but you can see why it seems like it's down for the day again.
edit: to answer the original person: I'm in the same situation as you. Right now I'm still having to spend a lot of time on RTK and not sentences. I did it slow so right now I'm just now getting cards into pile 8, but I have rapidly decreased my lower piles so I'm pretty sure the number of reviews will begin to drop pretty quickly. I don't really see the point of ignoring reviews at this point. Sure, many of the older cards are well known but the newer cards (and recently relearned cards) are still in the low piles. I have about 14000 reviews done already and estimate it'll take up to 20000 before almost all of them make it into pile 8, but that will be over the next 3-5 months, and not too many reviews per day.

ファブリス: And I'd recommend looking into the cache settings for the site-upgrade page. I had the same problem as the other poster--I had to close my browser and manually clear my cache to access the site again. So it seemed like the site was down for much longer than it actually was, as I was unlucky enough to access it at the wrong time.

When I finished RTK, I just focused on the reviews for about a month before I started sentences. After about 2 weeks, I think your reviews should get down to something more easily manageable.

In the end, once every kanji is in the last pile (which has an interval of 240 days), you will have on average 9 reviews per day. (2000 cards divided by 240 days)
