Aijin: Am I right in thinking you learnt Mandarin using Japanese? If so, I (and probably a few other people on this forum) would be very interested to know what Japanese language resources you used to do so and if there are any you would specifically recommend.

Also, your idea about buying these grammar dictionaries to help you explain Japanese grammar in English is an interesting one. I often find myself doing the reverse - attemping to explain English grammar in Japanese to Japanese people. Do you (or anyone else) happen to know any good Japanese language resources that explain English grammar in a clear and concise way?

EnglishPod101.com. It's designed for Japanese natives to learn English. I think it is waaaay better than JapanesePod101.com, just because the casual talking is all done in Japanese, plus it doesn't have Peter and his atrocious Japanese accent.

i imagine using this deck by suspending all the cards and then unsuspending them as you read the grammar points in the book... you could check them for spelling errors easy then.... of course this comment would probably seem pretty obvious to most people Tongue btw, what is wrong with Naruto? it is the new DBZ to me...

LOL I so can't stand DBZ or Naruto.

That aside...

There's one thing I think this deck will be brilliant for! It occurred to me to go through the grammar points in KM2kyuu and search them in this deck and unsuspend what I need to study up on my grammar for 2kyuu instead of trying to work through KM2kyuu as a deck.

Just a little update:

I have been going thru this for a couple weeks now post KO2001 and I actually like it. I had planned to just start at intermediate cause i have about 5 years of college grammar but the begginer stuff turns out to be really good-has lots of names in Japanese and in katakana, something KO sorely lacked.

I'm actually planning to just go the the whole deck-20 cards a day will let me finish in a year if I delete cards that are too easy (and there are a bit of thoose). This plus RTK3 should hold me over till KO2001 book three comes out next year.....

Well, if a sentence contains at least one new data in it, then it is usefull to srs, even grammar

And I get plenty of real world praitce living in japan. I watch tv everday, read books, net, movies. I even work in Japanese.

I just hate to put down a book that I am reading for fun and rush off to look up a word or enter it into anki-I would much rather do anki in the morning (training) and when I am doing the rest just enjoy it.

As long as you delete sentences that do not contain something new, then its not repatative or a waste of time at all I think.

It all comes down to what you enjoy, right? If you like getting your sentences for manga or anime, or mining your own, then go for it. I personally dont cause I think its a bit of a waste of time. I would rather work from a pre made deck and just enjoy japanese in the "wild". I mean, if it take 5 mins to mine your own sentence, that a lot of reviews I could have done.

In the end, its the resutls i've seen from doing anki for two plus years now that lets me enjoy the "training" process.

I'm sorry for bringing this topic back to life. But I've been looking for this deck, and it has been impossible for me to find it. Does anyone have a clue on where to find it? please.

Shared decks->8547 Japanese Sentences

Just be warned that it has errors, so make sure you check the cards before using them.
