cutting up video

#1
anyone know how to do this just on it's own without subs2srs? id like to cut certain scenes out of programs to easily repeat. i know how to do it with audio, but not video...

also, does anyone know how to improve sound quality of a video -> audio thing? I have audacity, but don't know if theres any way of doing it. Some videos, the sound is poor, and the waves look small. I guess i need to make them bigger somehow? If i use a higher bitrate to get the sound out, does this do it? or something else?

thanks :)

You can use VirtualDub for cutting parts out of your video: http://www.virtualdub.org/
Note that you may have to install the proper decode/encode codecs: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_li...c_pack.htm

For the audio, what you need to do is normalize. Basically it means looking for the loudest spot in the audio file, and amplifying the whole thing so much that the highest spot will be at the maximum volume. Audacity should have that option somewhere in "Edit" or "Effects" menu. Smile

I'm pretty sure you can download youtube videos in MP4 format if you use DownloadHelper (Addon for firefox). Might work better then.

If you can't do that then.. Maybe try other codec packs?
