"Read Japanese with a Smile" book

Would anyone know if a PDF version of that book exist? It'd be easier to copy and paste its sentences into an SRS than to rewrite them completely out of the printed version. Thanks

Even if a pdf existed it wouldn't let you copy & paste.

Normal OCR software doesn't work on Japanese text. Special stuff that does still isn't very reliable.

Some PDFs do have copy-and-paste ability. Not all, but some.

Yeah, ones that have been ocr'd when they were scanned, or are officially released documents and not scans at all.

The chances of either of those are slim, but you can copy and paste as graphics I suppose.

ReadIRIS with the Asian plug-in does work on Japanese text, and it's very reliable.

ahibba, I made the mistake of following your advice on ReadIRIS and upgraded to the latest version some time ago, and it was mainly a cosmetic upgrade.

ReadIRIS is not all that reliable for Japanese. You have to correct some mistakes on most sentences, and it needs quite a lot of guiding for page layouts. It can still save some time entering sentences, but still needs work to correct errors. Suppose your mileage will vary depending on the fonts & layout used in what you scan.

Personally since I write everything out when i review it, I prefer to manually enter it into the SRS as part of the first reviewing process.

Just me and my 2 cents ^^
