Point 22. on that page is interesting: "Possibility of installing a plug-in repetition spacing algorithm developed by a third party (e.g. neural network SuperMemo)". There's an article on "neural networks for solving spaced repetition algorightm", could be interesting.. haven't had time to read it yet.

i actually bought a copy, used it for about 2 weeks and decided that i would stick to mnemosyne and stackz. they sent me a full refund

May be of interest to some - the latest SM does support Unicode, which means that finally you can have your Japanese collections without any workarounds.
