Yeah, I'd like an invite, too. Interested to see what it's all about... But I've not heard anything back from them either.

I'll be keeping my ear to the ground on this one. Can't wait until it's finally released though.

Is there no other way to find people?
I just have this wonderful picture in my head of a bunch of us getting on wave and starting some Japanese resource waves. What do you think of it? Have you thought of any cool new things you can do yet?

Right now it feels a lot like IM... except you can instantly publish the results to a blog or CMS or some other kind of website. And naturally, you can just drop in things like photos or youtube videos or some of the apps.
I was just playing with it with a friend of mine, and we were both editing each other's replies in real time as we were replying to each other in a wave. It was pretty funny stuff. And the best part is that you can use playback to see who edited what, so you don't necessarily lose any data. It's all preserved.
It's pretty much an open container, which means you can do pretty much anything you want with it. If there's a publishing robot available, it can publish the wave pretty much on whatever destination system you want to-- WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, etc.
I see it as something that could eventually replace Facebook, to be honest, only more useful. It's not a closed-end system, it has the same kind of extensibility, and it doesn't have all of the annoying bits of something like Facebook. (Not yet, anyway.) And it will eventually be (mostly) open-source, so you'll be able to run your own wave server using the Federation protocols.

I've made a public RevTK wave. Search for 'with:public tag:revtk'.

Wow, it really is in the beta stages, eh? It's only been stable enough for me to play around on for an hour or so today.
