Yes, I have, I bought the official test specification book (日本語能力試験出題基準 pub. 凡人社) and went through the characters one by one.
Total characters for each level are:
L4: 103
L3: 284
L2: 1,023
L1: 2,040
Here is a complete list as part of a Google Spreadsheet. If you download the document and open it in Excel or similar, then it's easy to rearrange the data to your own needs.
Many of the JLPT lists I've seen floating around on the Internet have just been taken from school grade levels. A few years ago, someone made a JLPT1 list which added a dated list of 285 jinmei kanji to the 1,945 Joyo kanji, and it seems to have caught on. If you're taking JLPT1, time spent studying those jinmei kanji would be better used elsewhere.
