Hi there,
I'm currently living in Japan and learning the Kanji with Heisig's method. Instead of creating flash cards on paper i decided to use my cellphone. So i wrote a small flash application, and now i can learn whereever i am.

Now i decided to make that thing public, so that everyone can benefit. You can download it now at http://ravemotion.de/mobilekanji/ ! It's completely free and works offline, so you never have to pay anything. It should work on most of the modern mobile phones in Japan, actually every mobile phone that support flash lite 2.0 should be fine.

If there are any issues, errors, problems, please let me know! Since i made this program for myself i had no opportunity to test it on different cellphones.

Hi,

This sounds a useful resource - can you give any advice on whether it should run on a modern Docomo phone (I have the N04A). Docomo phones seem very fussy about their file structure, and I think the files need to go in PRIVATE\DOCOMO\STILL\SUD001\ and named STILbbbb.swf. If I rename the files according to this convention, I can see the title page, but nothing else seems to work...

Thanks!

Ah, that sounds interesting. Thank you for the details about the naming. I will make a new update according to these naming rules and will let you know when it's finished.
I have a Softbank phone, and it works fine with that. But the market share of Docomo is quiet high as far as i know, so i will definitely update!

Thanks for the feedback!

You're welcome.

Details of the folder structure naming scheme are given here (and in online versions of the Docomo manuals, of course)
