Out of interest though, how do you 'hear' ちょっと being written like that

Learn't 世界最大 the other day and now I'm hearing that everywhere. Heard it in James Bond yesterday a few times and now just heard it on TBS a few times!

I've never seen ちょっと written in kanji. On looking it up, I saw 2 kanji renderings:
一寸 which is semantically accurate but uses a special reading and
鳥渡 where I suppose the kanji are being used phonetically.

Although some words are written mostly in hiragana it can be useful to become familiar with the less common kanji version especially if it's a kanji you've gone to the trouble of learning anyway. Otherwise you can get thrown when the kanji version pops up. Common examples are 又 (また), 迄 (まで) and 為 (ため) which I've seen in job ads - I wonder if this is because employers are charged per character to advertise and kanji are more economical space-wise.
