Favorite 日本語 YouTube Clips Project!

#1
Dear all,

As the AJATT method suggests, it is crucial to have a constantly refreshed and new source of media. Every now and then I hope on youtube and watch some random videos, but it can be kind of difficult to find a good clip some times. Inspired by this rather interesting news clip I found this morning I thought we could join efforts and create a nice, lengthy playlist. So, here are the rules:

Post your favorite youtube clip (or two, but no more than two!) here.
No music.
Not too long, not too short.
Try to do something a little bit original (e.g. strange news clips, etc. -- not trying to compile a list of TV shows here, but occasional clips should be OK).
Give a comment or two.

If this works out well I'll compile all the links into a Playlist and share it here for all.

If this -really- works out maybe we can make this an occasional event with different themes.

Here's my contribution:

Random news clip with news caster comments, casual conversation, occasional Japanese subs (useful!), a cute dog and a cute girl.

Here's the playlist (I think):

-kodorakun

p.s. I feel this is a combination between a "learning resource" and a "group study," but I went with this forum as it's more active. Hope you don't mind Big Grin

Great idea!

Here's a skit by comedian 志村けん from the 70s (it's worth it alone for the part at 3:17 XD) and how けん(director in skit) shrieks the word "STAAAAART" as if he's jumping off a building or somethin. Link:

I'm not against streaming live TV -- I've had variable luck with justin.tv stuff, but also, the youtube combo allows for a variety of small topics and also helps people find stuff they like through exposure to said variety. I would have never found サザエ if it weren't for my friend's recommendation!...

Thanks

Does it have to be YouTube? http://www.mcdonalds.co.jp/company/cm/index.html - Just learn Japanese from Mr. James! He's a good 外人 role model.

I found this interesting, basically Sakurai Sho from ARashi is in America and he intereviews people at a convention and like a borders but anyways it's justinteresting it's sorta documentary-ish on Anime/manga and how it's viewed/accepted in America. IT's from a Japanese point of view so...
I especially found the last part interesting with the guy with the glasses saying all that stuff:

If you don't know what majigire means:

For all of you using Youtube, you can download the videos using something like Video DownloadHelper for Firefox.

It also works with lots of other sites.

Seeing how I don't know any Japanese yet, just some Kanji and a few stock phrases, I don't have a clue what this video is about; but I'm watching stuff, rather I know what it means or not, and this video I find funny:

I also like love this commercial:

Hey all,

Thanks for posting your links! I've updated the play list (link in original post). You should have a solid chunk of time for background dialog to listen to or to follow closely. For the non-Youtube links, thanks for the stream info, but my primary interest is in having, as mentioned, a constant variety in a huge playlist (ideal).

Does the FNN site have any links that are for continuous broadcasting? A lot of their clips are good, but short, so if I want to hear a lot of audio I have to constantly click around to different links.

Hey nice find! And there are 6 videos to go with it! It is too advanced for me (most of this is), but it's good for having language listening stuff on in the background. Thanks!

here are my youtube accounts' favorites but like half the interesting videos got removed lol on the old account and then sometimes I favorite a video i don't like that much or i find boring b.c. i favorite stuff to finish watching/give it a chance LATER and then forget to remove it from my favorites so by ALL MEANS not all the videos on my favorites are NECESSARILY interesting (to me etc) but there are some really interesting ones like I LOVED that episode of school kakumei with the gaijin geninoujin.

new oneold one

you can also check out the people i subscribed to... if anyone has similar tastes as me.

A very good thread, sad that half of the links don't work anymore.

I don't know where I found this, but this one is sweet.
