What is Google Chrome doing to my Kanji?

#1
This might have something to do with what encoding my version of Chrome has, but can someone help me out. I'll post pics to aid with my description.

As one can see, they both have the same Unicode encoding but come out completely different. >_> I REALLY hate the way chrome shows the thread radical/kanji. The first time I saw that I literally had NO idea what it was. Anyway, can I get a little bit of help here from other chrome users?

Change the fonts chrome uses. Simply click the little wrench icon and select “Options”. On the “Minor Tweaks” tab you’ll find a button labeled “Change font and language settings”. Select your favorite Japanese fonts.
