Whats a good program to adjust subtitle timing?

#1
see title.

I have a few movies ripped that i've dl'ed subs for but the subs were timed for a different version of the file and are out of sync with mine. So whats a good easy to use program to correct this problem?

I used a program called se18 back when I was a DL whore. Now I think it's called SE25.

I've heard Aegisub is a good subbing program, but I've never used it (I can't figure out how to install it on my mac...)

Aegisub is great, and relatively easy to learn. However, I believe you can adjust subtitle timing directly from Media Player Classic, and/or FFDshow, if I'm not mistaken, which would probably be the easiest route.

In relation to that, on VLC (on the Mac, don't know about Windows) pressing H or J adjusts the subs delay by 50 milliseconds.

You can do that and much more with K-Multimedia Player.

" ' " = - 0.5 seconds
" ¡ " = + 0.5 seconds
" shift + ' " = - 5 seconds
" shift + ¡ " = + 5 seconds
" alt + y " = "manually" change subs delay

You also have lots of other options...
