IRC shouldn't be compared to Twitter. Twitter isn't a chat, it's an overhyped copy of the least important part of facebook . When people use Twitter to chat, it becomes impossible to use. Your history gets filled by crap you care nothing about. IRC lets groups of people talk as if they were in the same room, you can have fairly deep conversations.

IRC doesn't mean you have to be on at all times, in fact, most people aren't. We're just in there, idling, looking at the chat once every 10 minutes or so. When a fun discussion pops up, it's easy to jump in.

lurk is just the most obvious answer...and btw while the search can be executed on the webstie if you want to download you re bound to use IRC. So it rather confirm the natural answer to my rethorical question about the interest of IRC
But let s say I want some classic like tezuka's adolf... or a very recent release and I dont have knowlege of which teams are into raw.
Well you can find that stuff and it s not even on IRC.

Like I said, first screenshot from the official site. I didn't even look at the others. If that's not how they want to represent their software, why would they even have that screenshot?

The shot you posted looks a lot better. I'll now admit that KVirc seems to be fine. I'm still curious why you think irssi is unusable though.

Also: there's no reason to make this personal and question my maturity. We're talking about IRC clients here. I don't have a single negative thing to say about you, I don't even know you. I was only commenting on the program you recommended.

That's not how they represent their software, they are a bunch of themes to select from.

Anyway, Nii87 I go there sometimes too. I still think it'll be cool for a sep rtk community as well. I just can't seem to connect to any ircnet gateway.
