For me, inputting sentences has always been that quick part where you just copy-paste lines into anki and check over the automatic reading generation - but my cards only consist of a kanji side and reading side anyway. Is the massive amount of time a result of dictionary diving for SRSable definitions? For me I work through a text book, so I work through a chapter, learn the new grammar and vocab and type in a good selection of the sentences which means I get all of the new grammar and vocab. I suppose it is not much different from studying from a text book, but typing in the sentences takes a but longer. I have found that it has helped with my typing ability, and it definitely enforces the material. However time wise it is maybe not so time efficient as cut and paste.

Can you all please stop quoting entire posts ?
You're supposed to use the quote button to quote PART of the text that you want to comment on. Not only is this a huge waste of database space, it is totally unpractical because people who want to follow the discussion end up re-reading the same thing twice, and in the end they have no idea what exactly you are commenting on.
If can't be bothered editing the quoted post, then please just type in the name of the person you want to reply to. Eg: "forumFooBar : blablablalbal..."
You can find countless articles on proper quoting.

If you are responding to the OP, that will often be apparent by the things you say in your own post. If that is the case, you do not need to quote the OP. Sometimes, merely mentioning the name of the poster to whom you are addressing is enough to make it obvious to which post you are responding. Sometimes, if the post you are responding to is the one just immediately above your own post (or where it will appear), you do not need to quote that post. Please try to do at least a little trimming of the posts that you quote when you use the quote button.

May I suggest easier post editing buttons? Or is that not possible with the current forum design? That way grabbing and edit the text would be easier. I don't know if it would change things much. But editing would be easier, nonetheless.

Is the massive amount of time a result of dictionary diving for SRSable definitions?Depends I guess. When I add from Kanzen Master, it takes me a few minutes to enter tons of sentences. Simply CP the sentence into anki from spreadsheet, read it to see how well I understand it. CP the grammar into it. Check the reading generation (which is almost always correct) and IF I feel necessary, I quickly run new words through jisho.org and paste the english definitions in (they are just there to save time, reading through J-J dictionaries would take ages).

When I actively mine, it takes even less time to actually make the cards, but the exposure and enjoyment takes ages of course.

Is the massive amount of time a result of dictionary diving for SRSable definitions? It takes time for me to input because I'm either learning it via RTK or Grammar point, writing it out by hand via initial entry for vocabulary (I always write out the sentence first time through, after that just the word being tested), or "deciphering/translating" in my current set-up. The last part only takes time if I need to find out what a certain word or phrase means. Other wise, it's a fast entry.
