Smart.fm adds open lists - When Smart.fm met the wiki

#1
From: Smart.fm's blog

Quote:We’ve just released a new feature on smart.fm: open lists!

You now have the option to open up your lists to have other people collaborate on them!
Once you have set this option, every user will have the same administration rights to the list as you do, so make sure that you only make public content that you are willing to have changed.
What kind of open list would you love to see or edit?

IMO, This has been their most significant improvement yet because we can now request Japanese users to contribute audio to items and sentences we create and correct errors as well. So it is Smart.fm meets wiki meets lang-8

And likewise, we can volunteer our American or whatever. Ever get any audio on those "all about particles" lists? Mrs. Kame has been too busy to jump start her career as a voice actor. I'll be in J-land for much of August, maybe I can corral someone.

Yes. 人美ちゃん http://smart.fm/users/asanaa volunteered to read them for me from Japan. Unfortunately, the way it was set up before, I had to give her my password and let her sign in to my account.

I went to some of the lists Japanese are using to study English. Unlike the automated Japanese audio, the automated English voice sounds very real. I am not sure they would need our help with their lists.

Now there's collaborative lists with user limits. In addition, there's privacy settings limiting access to the lists.

Very cool.
