I was about to make a joke about creating a thread on a couple particular, controversial topics, then realized there was an incredibly high chance people would actually start to argue about it in here.

I think it's time for a new discussion to be incorporated into the thread anyway. At 544 replies, we surely can't have much more to say about Japanese virgins...? I hope??

So on the topic of virgins, if people are so concerned about 間接キス, why don't young girls seem to mind, for example, getting into the bath after their fathers? A 間接 something else comes to mind.

I think it looks better written in romanji because of the i-j-i combo. It's pleasant to look at, where as the kanjified version is somewhat unbalanced aesthetically.

Plus, 愛人 sounds kinda' slutty. In retrospect it might not have been the best screen-name, but when I was thinking, "Hmmm, what should my username be..." I looked around, and it was the first word I saw.

Well, the only virgin I happened to have sex with was Japanese. Now, I did not know at the time she was a virgin. It was only after we met a second time by accident that she confirmed I was the first person she had sex with. The interesting bits: She was 35. She wanted it to be a one night stand after the fact (I'm not a one night stand kind of person). She was not good at sex. She had a paranoid personality. She did not want to have sex with another person.

Not sure what point to make of that though. I do think virginity is over rated in the minds of many men. In my mind, you'd want a lady with experience and you want to be her best experience. The reverse should also apply in the lady's case. In that virgin's case, she's not the best experience I've had. I am the best and worst she's had and is likely to have not through my skill at lovemaking but just through being the only experience. In other words, I could judge how well she did. She could not tell how well I did, but she thought I did good. Should she never have sex with another, she's left with that limited opinion of sex and would be all the poorer for it in my opinion.

To be fair, my opinion on sex is warped by the Jean Auel books Earth's Children. More specifically in "The Valley of the Horses" where the ritual thinking is a virgin's first sexual experience should be pleasurable. Therefore, a person skilled in the art of sex is sought after for the virgin's first time. This applied to men and women.

I agree, looking for love in Japan is far from my only goal in life, just one of the most important ones right now. Fascinating question. It's kind of big so let me try to go step by step.

1. I don't feel like she's a chunk of my heart I'm missing or anything. But she's out there, and I could live better and be happier if I found her and (Gods willing) could make a loving LTR with her.

2. It's a feeling of hope for the future. I can look at some my own friends who are hitched and how happy they sometimes are with one another. I don't have that with anyone else. It's kind of a hungry feeling, like I can see a refreshing spring in the desert journey up ahead. Something that will make me grateul and will hopefully make the rest of my life less arduous. Of course I could fall into a quicksand pit 3 meters from the water. But I'm going to try to be careful and still perservere towards it.

3. What does it feel like now? Is it a happy feeling? I don't think so, it's like missing an arm in a world without prosthetic limbs. You COULD live a full without an arm. But you realize, from the world around you, that you could be much more, and perhaps wouldn't have to endure all that you have to endure. It can be a lonely feeling, to be by myself, even with friends I've had since elementary school, there's some things I can't talk to them about, that I can easily see myself sharing with my wife. Simply because I have the capacity to tolerate being by myself doesn't mean I ought to, nor that I should be content enough with myself to not let my otherwise "unneeded" needs drive my efforts.

@IceCream re: marriage example, I understand what you mean, certainly I or anyone could be tremendously happy with anyone regardless of sexual experience. It's my own high demands in this regard. I pursure the best in myself but make few concessions on my demands from my business associates, friends, or the world. I don't ask for everything, but what I ask for, I want.
