I recently backed up my Japanese sentences anki deck to my external hard drive, and made 5 sets of flash cards for my different classes (not sure if I'm setting them up correctly, but I just put important notes in the question field and 用語 in the answer field, if there are any that I don't understand. ((you don't learn 無機繊維 from reading こちら亀 or クロマティ高校)) )

Anyone else using Anki for regular studies?

Sorry to off topic, I downloaded Anki, but I can't download the shared decks
I tried to do what they advise, but I couldn't, the "tools" only appear when I try to create my own deck, and it asks me to turn anki off, but what I want are the shared download decks

It appears the following:

Tools > Advanced > Full Database Check.

I don't have this Tae Kim's stuff or RTK (the ones I want, for now) on my computer btw, what should I do?

Probably the folder "C:\Users\TMN\Documents" does not exist or has the wrong security permissions. Therefore Anki fails to create this file. Create the folder and make sure that your current users is allowed to write into it.

You can also download the shared decks directly using your browser. Save http://anki.ichi2.net/file/get?id=140 as a zip file and extract the contained shared.anki to get the Tae Kim deck. Do the same for http://anki.ichi2.net/file/get?id=140 to get the Heisig deck.
