Reader and Dictionary

#1
So i use this reader for gutenberg and html stuff http://www.spacejock.com/yBook.html

its a decent reader and its free, but for reading Japanese stuff Im looking for something that will allow me to link to a dictionary that i have on my pc by clicking the word. I dont have access to the internets at work - and i hate copying and pasting alot when i read something above my level.

I used to use firefox and rikaichan for that now, but i cant stand that edict dict

any suggestions would be appreciated

I think you can download a program called stardict, which claims to be the best free dictionary program in linux and windows, according to the first result in google. I am using it with the two JMDict files available here: http://stardict.sourceforge.net/Dictionaries_ja.php

It works off the net just as well with these files downloaded. I have net dictionaries disabled. My question in return is, Are there any better dictionary files (or applications) out there? I'm tired and could be mistaken, but I think there are no J-J dictionaries available for stardict!

Yes, there is e.g. a converter from the Babylon format (*.bgl) to Stardict. So you might like to try "Meikyo Japanese-Japanese" from http://reciteword.sourceforge.net/stardict/babylon.php. Using it is of course illegal without first buying the Babylon version.

In Babylon it looks like this:
