車窓 Maybe I'm an oddball, but one of my favorite things about Japan is riding on the trains. On my days off, I get on one bound for nowhere in particular and just get off at a place that looked interesting to me. Often spending the night if I find an internet cafe to sleep at. The user here a gives HD experiences of touring Japan from the window of trains.
サザエさん My girlfriend tells me this has been the most popular anime series in Japan for at least 40 years. She rushes home to watch it every week.
まんが日本昔ばなし Old children's stories. 1,159 videos+ each lasting about 10 minutes each.
東京mx It has a Japanese captions option
1000 kanji video There are two videos in the series
carmennosubete Japanese movies
jaguarlampungZ Japanese movies
tokyocooney Stand-up comedian discusses work, visas, housing, trains, festivals, etc.
gunkan Just a Tibetan Buddhism channel in Japanese, but it does have the movie "Kudun" dubbed.

I watched a few of the train videos. They're sort of relaxing, it's strange to describe. I think it's nice to see all these people going about their business.

Sounds like a fantastic idea, I love wandering around places that nobody every goes. When I live in Osaka, i used to go to the JR station with a mate, get on the loop line right round and then come home again, all on just a platform ticket. Sounds boring but we had such a laugh doing that. I love train journeys in any acountry.

Obligatory

If you speak Japanese and know the original version, you can't finish it without laughing. The lyrics is awesome in every imaginable way.

いや、最初の「老いた親が今 部屋のドアを叩いても
画面だけを ただ見つめて 微笑んでる あなた」のところだけで吹いた。

I don't know the original, but I liked the 宇宙戦艦ニート one as well. But knowing the original theme for Evangelion made that better.

An American gaijin that teaches Japanese in 2 series called Japanese4Morons (J4M) and StreetKanji. Has a website for teaching Japanese and English as well. He currently runs an English school in Japan right now and has lived in Japan for over 18 years (if I remember correctly) Also covers other Japan related stuff (life, culture, etc)

http://www.youtube.com/user/jlandkev

Walking, talking, vlogging gaijin from Canada that talks about life in Japan and Korea, teaching English in both countries, and films and shares random things he comes across on the streets of Japan. Currently lives in either Osaka or Kobe (forget which).

http://www.youtube.com/user/ElevenColors

http://www.youtube.com/user/Juuichiiro

American gaijin that vlogs in English and Japanese. Somehow associated in the music scene in Japan (he won't say what his job is :-p ). Usually talks about life in Japan and Japan related stuff.

http://www.youtube.com/user/Hikosaemon

Gaijin (from New Zealand if I remember right) that vlogs in English and Japanese. Again, talks about life in Japan and Japan related stuff. Also involved in the music scene (a DJ I believe).

http://www.youtube.com/user/runnyrunny999

http://www.youtube.com/user/resrunny?gl=JP&hl=ja

Japanese vlogger that usually speaks in English (sometimes w/ Japanese subtitles) but ocassionally in Japanese. Another life in Japan and Japan related stuff vlogger. Sometimes talks about when he lived in the US (funny stories). Recently started making videos teaching how to cook Japanese food.

http://www.youtube.com/user/messypro1

American vlogging in English about teaching in Japan and life there. Teacher by day, rapper by night

This is just the tip of the iceberg. Start following these people and you will be introduced to many others (that speak English, Japanese, and other languages)

Woot, some of these are great!~

Various users have posted these but search 言葉にできない and multiple results will come up featuring some very very crack up stuff. Some of my favourite stuff among it was signs written in Japanese that just say bizarre/hilarious things. In one of them someone drew a 2ch style pedo bear on a handwriting IME and among all the recommendations for which kanji it could be 熊 took the number one spot. 信じらなかった!

サザエさん
I "half" watch that show every Sunday. The great thing about it is that they don't speak too quickly and they use everyday Japanese. Really I'm just waiting for イッテQ to come on though. イモト cracks me up.
