I found out today that I'm going to be awarded a $10,000 scholarship from a certain very large Japanese multinational IT services company. Free money woo.

I'm already in a graduate program in Hawaii. It's just extra money for me for when I do my capstone final semester in Tokyo.
I study business and Japanese language.

Sometimes I hit sections where the words were stuff I knew already so I only needed to associate the kanji with what I already knew. On those days I reviewed more new cards. Other days it was new words I didn't know or the kanji were difficult so I added fewer cards. Technically at the end I shouldn't have rushed like I did since I hit a lot of really hard cards. My brain has gotten good at remembering this stuff though so I pick up the words faster now. Once you have 3000 or so under your belt it picks up I think.

Finished reading the DOBJG. Great read. I can't wait for the DOIJG, the romaji in DOBJG really prooved to be a bother from the middle onwards.
Reached the 2.5 k vocab mark a few days ago too.
I never fully understood the momentum stuff, but now it seems I can't be stopped. Cool feeling.

I don't know whether to post this in achievements or failures but needless to say, it's a milestone. I had my first serious verbal fight with someone which lasted a long time and we both had a lot to say. This time it wasn't Japanese I learned but instead a life lesson.

Passed N1 in December. Finally finished Core6k today. I feel a bigger sense of accomplishment having finished Core6k than with passing N1.
Now it's on to 10k.

I just hit 50% of mature cards on my Mixed Vocab deck (Core-KO2001-SoumatomeN3N2-JLPT).
Mature: 5170 (50,0%)
Young: 1424 (13,8%)
Not seen: 3748 (36,2%)
Im studying pretty hard these last days, adding from 20 to 50 words daily that I get from Soumatome N2 Kanji and other sources, thats why I have 1424 young cards, with daily 200-250 reviews and increasing.
The Not seen words are all suspended, and I only unsuspend them if I stumble upon them somewhere and cant figure out the meaning.

nice job. But I wouldn't have thought N1 should even be possible if your vocab is so low that you'd want to use core6k.
