actually, iPods are almost impossible to brick, because they can be reset even if a firmware update fails. As far as I know, the hardware that handles an update is separate from the firmware.
re chochajin's comment, there's nothing vosmiura can do about that. It's a stupid limitation imposed by Apple.

If a jailbreak fails you can always restore it in dfu mode.

I'm seriously thinking on buying an Iphone just because og anki. Does it work well there? Can I import from my stats from my computer? Is it easy to install?
Is it worth it? It would be really, really useful for me.
And does the Iphone have any other features? Does it play games (in japanese, preferably)?

My mom told me she'd give me a new cellphone before going to college (college starts in september) and I'm only interested only ...oh shoot. I just saw its price...damn. I knew it was expensive, but not that expensive. 500€ the cheaper version!!! ;_;
I can forget it now. My mom would never buy me something that expensive.
I'll research on Ipod touch. I got my Creative Zen last christmas. Waste of money If I happen to buy Ipod touch. I actually wanted a new cellphone, but at the price of the iphone that's going to be (almost) impossible.
Aren't there any other portable devices that are able to use Anki?
I thought Ipod touch was an MP3 with other features, but it's actually a PDA. Oh great! This one I think she'd buy me, even though it's not a cellphone, well, I can use mine for some more time.
Is it possible to have Iphone stuff for free? Without having to buy them? I have no credit card. Anki is free right?

@vosmiura: I tried several times to sync 2 decks at a time and also posted in the "iAnki Update" thread about the error message I got.
I usually have to review about 150 cards per deck per day.

Anki on the Ipod touch works offline right?
I read something about safari to put Anki working...wtf is that?
It's for free right? Some of the applications have to be bought...

How do you guys deal with media in your deck? I want to try out iAnki, but I have plenty of dictations cards. Should I just change the model from "audio" on the question card to "reading" and then sync it or does changing the model frequently mess up some algorithm?

CarolinaCG, it would be best to do some more research. I don't know how iPhones work in Portugal. You can find answers to your questions in this thread and searching the internet.
Both iAnki & AnkiMini can work offline.
You don't need to buy any extra apps. To use iAnki you need a wireless network. To use AnkiMini you need to "jailbreak" your iPhone. Read up about that if you don't know what it means.

Ahh, you'll need to have a wireless network to synchronize your cards to Anki every few days.

Does AnkiMini work with 3.0 OS? I installed it through Cydia, and it doesn't load.
I've been fine just using the web interface, despite being a little funky at times. I really should try messing around with my phone sometime...
