Doesn't work for me. Can somebody that managed to extract the file reupload it without a password?

welldone101, who told you that I'm the owner of the website who says: "Share it and don't be stingy!" ??

Bizarre.

btw I was curious about something Activeaero hinted at. He's right - by putting stuff on Google sites, you are agreeing that you have the copyright (or permission) and are giving Google a license to use the stuff. (This content ownership issue has been in the news recently regarding Facebook.)

り -> リ, 間 -> 聞, い coming out as "し\" and that sort of thing.
I have the last Asian edition. No mixing, no wrong characters, and no strange symbols. Everything is accurate and like the original images exactly. Amazing OCR!

In my earlier trials, I used an old version, yes, the the result was full of mistakes.
That sounds nice. I have 10. $249.00 for 12 Sad.

If anybody has "Essential Japanese Verbs" and knows how to run Perl and Python scripts, he can now create his own Anki deck. In contrast to KO2001 EJV features all Japanese as text:

http://rapidshare.com/files/246002872/Es...cripts.zip

The settings that it uses by default are not quite optimal as I just reused the KO2001 one, but you can easily change font, font size and what's actually displayed on the card using Anki's menus.

Thank you xaarg for the script.

I hope the owner of "Share it with me" website will use it to produce a deck for that product!

BTW, why don't you reply to my last e-mails?
So is it safe to assume that the passworded rar file is just a tease? I can't get it to open at all and that license agreement is pretty interesting...

Welcome FamilyMart! (post #1 is always exciting). So... is FamilyMart thinking of carrying 2001KO at their stores? Sounds like a permitted 'commercial purpose'. ;-)
The password for the deck with text is "I agree to be bound by the terms of the Agreement".

But I just reuploaded a copy without a password:

I don't understand the part where you justify the "Agreement" and I can work with both text or a spreadsheet.

Sweet, thanks xaarg. I've been refreshing this thread all day for that.
Cool, I got KO2001 a while ago, but I missed out on the audio, so this is stellar. I didn't really want to get involved in the previous shitstorm, but basically -- This saves me a lot of time making my own decks, so i'm happy.

Is there any way to add all the text/images/audio (or just text and audio?) together?
It's nice having Text, and then Image/Audio, but it would be nice (not essential) to have a Text/Audio version.

The text version also has the links to the audio files. There are just not included, because there are huge. Just download the 3 part deck and use its media folder with the text deck.
xaarg Wrote:If I get the text (preferably as a text file or something and not as an Anki deck) I will upload a new deck with images, text and audio, but using the orginal file names.
Take your time.

Have you received the text files?
ahibba Wrote:Have you received the text files?
Yeah, I just need to find the time to add them to a deck with original filenames.
Is it just me or is the text version errr not text? The Japanese sections are supposed to be in plain text rather than in images in this version right?
The Japanese is in text + images in this deck:

You can activate the text and deactivate the images in your template.

thanks so much for this! this is something i really wanted to use, but my CD drive doesn't work. imo, coscom should release an online version with SRS features or downloadable anki deck themselves...

Thank you! Now that Anki supports Furigana it would be interesting to share a deck with the furigana corrected because as the generation is automatic it makes some errors (e.g. 3日= 3にち instead 3日みっか).
The furigana is in the images.
So does this have the audio extracted from the KO2001 audiobook in the deck?
Yes, the links in the first page have the audio.
Frankly, this thread sickens me. I am now seriously reconsidering whether I want to be involved in this community.

ahibba, xaarg, this isn't about the morality of copyright law, or about posting here information that could already be found elsewhere, or even about promoting CosCom's work. The argument posted earlier that making a copyrighted work freely available increases sales does not work here. That may be true of books and some video games. Reading a novel online is not the same as holding a paperback in your hands far away from any computer. Many video games need a legit product key to enable online play. These products sometimes see boosts in sales from piracy, because the pirated version does not live up to the original. Let me be clear: this is not the case here. For the people on this forum there is nothing to be gained from owning the books. In fact, even if you buy the books you need to do some work to make them usable with Anki. Thanks to the spreadsheets that work is minimal, but the fact remains that thanks to this thread there is absolutely no reason except charity for anyone to buy CosCom's product anymore. And charity is not enough.

This is not about respecting copyright. There's an old English adage, "don't bite the hand that feeds you." That's exactly what's going on here. CosCom took a chance at releasing the ebook for parts 1 and 2 in the format that they did. But honestly, how likely now do you think it is we will see an ebook for part 3 (if there will even be a part 3)? ahibba, xaarg, thanks to this thread we may never see a part 3 in any form. And good luck getting CosCom to cooperate in the future (don't think that they don't read this site!).

Fabrice, I am truly sorry that you have to deal with this bull****. I understand the position that you are coming from with the new guidelines. It should not be your role to police this site. But this isn't about copyright law. It's about poisonous actions that are harmful to the community as a whole. If threads like this are allowed to exist, then I'm not sure this is not a forum I want to be a part of.

I, and a lot of other people have some thinking to do.
You do realize this community won't be the only people to buy the book? There will be plenty of people who find the website and buy it, or see it in a book store. And of course there will always be people like you who will buy it. The amount of money lost to them is negligible as most people who downloaded deck, like me, weren't interested in buying anyway. I only downloaded it because it was there and it looked useful.

I'm always amazed at how many people think the best use of their time is attacking others, rather than just quietly improving their own morality.
