Hope I put this in the right section. It goes something like....いつまでも. I'm still going with RTK1 so I haven't started vocab/sentences yet and I tried to look it up in a dictionary with no success. Thanks to anyone that helps.

I'm also a beginner so take this with a grain of salt:

いつまでも-comes up in my dictionary as meaning "as long as one likes, for any length of time".

Incidentally I learned this word earlier today :-)

Ahh, I see. I kept hearing it in j-pop endlessly and had to find out. Not sure what I did wrong about inputting it in the dictionary, who knows... Anyway, ありがとうございました。

Allow me to nitpick here. My understanding is that いつまでも has connotations of "will," "wish," and "hope." So, while grammatically correct, I think the last example and its translation carry different nuances.

To me いつまでもこの辞書をお持ちください sounds like "I hope you keep this dictionary for the rest of your life." as if the dictionary is a bible or something.

If I were to translate the sentence "You can keep this dictionary as long as you like" in similar wording, it'd be いつまででもこの辞書をお持ち下さって結構です。

いつまでもこの辞書をお持ち下さって結構です。is also correct (Note that it's not いつまででも), but it sounds like the dictionary is important, precious, etc. Probably this is because it means "You can keep this dictionary forever, and I know you will."

I'm not a teacher, so I could be wrong.
