Maybe I'm using vocabulary of a higher level, but that doesn't mean I know all the vocabulary in lower levels. For example, I answered 11 words only out of the 18 words in this test.
.
Right. But you definitely can use more than 2-3000, I'm sure. Me? I don't pass that one ether, I really can't spell. Rolleyes

Odd test, had to *really* think to get 17/18 on that level, but next level was much more straightforward. Maybe a bias towards more complicated words with a larger vocabulary? Either that or something to do with the specific sentences used.

Clearly the marking key is wrong, though, because this is clearly a superior answer.

To Ahibba, regarding you information about the Iverson Method. I recently started it and it appears to be working very well, thanks for the advice. I can do 50 words in a day, maybe takes about two hours. Inputting Japanese into anki takes much longer than with say German or French becuase of the constant switching from roman alphabet to hiragana, checking the kanji is correct etc. I imagine though that I could deal with more words in a day of a European language.

I'm curious, what's the benefit of that method over just adding sentences with those words in Anki (which takes me about the same time) ?
