I can't really think of a good title, but hopefully this will do.

I had been keeping a demo of the game 「龍が如く３」 because I kept telling myself I'd try to learn something from it actively instead of just passive exposure, but kept putting it off. I went through it over the last couple of days, writing down any text that I could copy down. It's not every bit of text, but it ended up being 41 pages. It includes:

- text from the option screens
- menu text
- attack descriptions
- item descriptions
- tutorials
- text messages/blog text
- text-based cutscenes/dialogue

None of the stuff from the voiced cutscenes is included (since they can't be paused to write stuff down), nor any of the little quotes from people you see while walking around (same reason).

Since it's a modern day setting using real world products, I thought things like the item descriptions might be useful to know (a lot of food related stuff there). I tried to add readings of names, although I couldn't quite catch some bits (like is the ～組 of yakuza groups read ぐみ?) and I haven't gone though all the product names.

Whoa! I have this demo too! I never thought to mine from it, but now it seems like a good idea. This will save me having to type everything up =D

BTW, have you seen the trailer for this game? The sheer amount of stuff you can do in this game is epic!

The demo is pretty short (you're limited to a small section of the town, can't go in all the shops, and there aren't really that many cutscenes for it), but I was surprised with how much text you could get from it. That should be all the descriptions/etc., but there's still other player-choice dialogues (キャバクラ, カラオケ館) missing. But I've had enough mining from that now

On the subject of game trailers, those were another thing I was keeping around to look stuff up but kept putting off. Some of these are all text from the trailers, but some are just words/phrases I didn't know or wanted to check. There's not really any consistancy about it.

Text from the manual of 「バイオハザード　ディレクターズカット」 (Resident Evil: Director's Cut). I started off just doing the first few pages, but then ended up doing the whole thing. The only part missing is the health/safety stuff, and most of the subcharacter profiles. I only have the downloaded Playstation Network version, so I had to copy it from a TV and couldn't make out most of the text for the subcharacters (since it overlaps with their illustrations), and the safety stuff I just didn't feel like doing (plus it's the same in anything, so it'd be easier to use something that's not as difficult to read).

I was going to do some in-game text from the File section, but then I just found this site instead:
