thanks so much for mentioning that site. i've been getting annoyng at yomiuri with the crap ni the beginning middle and end where they advertise or whatever the hell those are. I love how you can choosefast... yomiuri makes me feel like I'm wasting my time because it's slow (even if i speed up on kmplayer it gets a little high-pitched and weird lol). It's just what I wanted with the fast news

i found the coffee podcast boring beacse it's below my level.... it's like i want something challenging.

Does anyone know of a way to download the MP3s of the NHK newscasts? (http://www.nhk.or.jp/r-news/) They are so much better than Yomiuri, but I can't find a way to download them. Thanks!

It's not quite as good as downloading, but you could record them using Audacity.

フジテレビ's 今日のきょう starts of with how today is significant (the date something was invented, someone was born, etc), and has a different section for each weekday (徹子のお部屋, movie trivia, etc), then the announcer talks about a random topic under a 1 minute timer.

Other than that the only half interesting one I found was 裸のニュース :p I'll have to check out some of the ones mentioned in this thread.
