Popular Japanese direct download sites

I just bought the Japanese translation of Watchmen. As I don't want to type everything into my SRS. I'd like to know what the Japanese versions of Rapidshare and Megaupload are.

What do you mean by 'Watchmen' - the film? How will getting it in computer format help you?

If you mean the comic, a Japanese version of it will be in picture format, i.e. not copy-paste...

Easiest just to type it in, I feel.

Japanese people use the same ones as we do. There are a bunch of Chinese only ones though. That said, Japanese people don't pirate anywhere near as much as westerners do, so there isn't that much out there to find.

That is interesting, since the popular belief is that they do. Though, I myself have very little data points other than the skewed population around me. But yes, westerners tend to pirate alot, especially the younger ones (25 and younger)

Gaijins in Japan aren't Japanese people and would just use whatever they used in the west.

The only actual good P2P I know from Japan is Share (and perfect dark). Unfortunately, both programs are hard as crap to set up.

The progression was WinMX (not Japanese)-> WinNY -> Share -> Perfect Dark. They aren't that hard to setup imo, but they are very hard to use. WinNY and Share have no real search function (PD doesn't either maybe, I never used it), so you just have to set triggers to auto-dl anything that matches the criteria. Share and Perfect Dark both require you to have massive caches (50-100gb) to be effective.

In any case, those aren't direct download sites like rapidshare etc. If you want Japanese direct downloads just search for the download keijiban or link sites. They usually link to megaload, rapidshare, or mediafire.

Using share takes a bit of getting used to, but it isn't that hard to use. Perfect Dark is even easier to set up however it does require a lot cache. It isn't a problem however if you have a terrabyte drive dedicated to it =D

The good thing about these programs is that you can find very rare stuff. Stuff that you would have no chance of finding through direct download.

I know this isn't direct download either, but if you like bittorrent this forum can be very useful:

I can vouch for Perfect Dark being absolutely amazing. I've downloaded entire DVD images from there.

No, silly. Not the film, the comic. I also bought a Japanese translation of Twilight.

In this sense, I'm not looking for anything illegal as I've already bought the material. I just don't feel like typing out my SRS.

Just scan your copy and insert pictures of the panels into your SRS. If you don't have a scanner, a digicam works in a pinch.
