Before coming to Japan I lived in Sweden for a short while, long enough to learn the language to a good degree, but too short to have it firmly rooted. When it comes to reading books, I like to alternate between the different languages I learned, but I have quite a difficult time to find books in swedish in Japan. If you find one in a bookstore, they're usually too highly priced and in the wrong category. E.g. a book for small kids in the international section of a big Tokyo bookstore sells for 3000 yen. The local Ikea fills its furniture with tons of identical and somewhat outdated swedish and finnish books, but when you ask the staff whether you could buy one, the answer is surprisingly "No" (unless I asked the wrong person; I mean they do sell everything else in store).

This leaves the net. What are some good sites to order books in swedish and get them delivered here? I was piqued when I saw Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy in the local bookshop, translated of course, which makes me want to read the original. Any suggestions?

Personligen köper jag mina böcker på adlibris.se, men de levererar bara inom skandinavien :/

Bokia.se säljer även de bara inom Sverige, så bokus är nog your best bet så att säga. Sen finns även bokbörsen.se där man kan köpa och sälja begagnade böcker, men då betalning, frakt osv sköts utanför själva sidan kan det nog bli jobbigt, beroende på hur bra din Svenska är.

Nej, det var helt klart. Sälja böcker?? Dem enliga böckerna som jag har, säljas inte. Dem är likadant skätter på mig.

Det är underbart att bilda svenska sinner i huvudet på en gång. Småla grammatikreglar förlöras snabbt, men sprakrythmus blir då fortfarande. Det är synd att forumet har inget kategori på fremdsprakor. När storien ska bli internationaliserad, så är det en chans att introducera ett sådant kategori, eller?
