I'm currently in a deadlock at around 1300 kanji. I hope I get out of it soon!

My Deadlock began just before 1300 and ended around 1600.
Over weeks I could only learn 1-6 new Kanji a day, seldom 10.
Few days it was not possible for me to learn new Kanji.
But thankfully I never stop repeating the old ones.
Ganbatte ne!

I can't believe it came to this. I was cruising along so well, I assumed I wouldn't get into a deadlock. But alas, I'm still stuck at where I was at my last post. I guess this counts as deadlock.
But strangely, I haven't reviewed for 3 days, so I had 75 cards piles up. I tried my third pile, and got 50% for the 25 cards reviewed. Great, I thought, I'm screwed. Then I move to my second pile, and somehow 100%ed the remaining 50 cards. That was a huge confidence boost, so I'm going straight back into full steam kanji mode!

Yeah, I got to the same point after about 600. I think if you're powering along and adding/reviewing heaps, and then take a small break for a while, all the expired cards pile up. Coming in and seeing 100 expired cards can be demotivating, especially if you're success rate is low.
But I do the 1 hr max thing now. It reduces the pressure for me, because I only have an hour to get through as much as a I can, but after that, I know I've done my hour and can relax! Also, you don't have so many cards expiring if you only do hour sessions!

Gah! I've hit another deadlock at 1925! So close!

At least you aren't deadlocked at 2041.

^LOL! I wonder if that's possible...You'd have to be really, REALLY demotivated for that to happen!

Well, I stopped two weeks because of school. Now I'm at 390, but I've been feeling that some of the kanji in these lessons are very hard.

I have failed once, at around 600.
It was because I got bored with it and load with all high school stuff.
But now, I am devoting my summer vacation to learn them all, because after 1 year japanese language study at university, I got feeling that knowing them all is the best, especially since when I learned kanjis normal way, the ones I already done with heisig were learned in no time compared to kanjis I never seen.
So I am here at 1483, one chapter away from 3/4.... doing one lesson daily. Can't wait for tomorrow!

I got pretty damn deadlocked at about 1250. I planned to do the whole book in three months, but actually it took me two months just to do 1000-1500! Without another deadlock I should finish the book soon though, in a little over 5 months total.

One at 800 and the other at 1200~ Somewhere around there at least. My oranges piled up and so did my reds as I didn't bother reviewing out of pure laziness. I'm currently at 1903 and going strong! I started to do a lesson a day and it's been working out great so far! Only a few more lessons and it's time to celebrate

Slow, but steady. No motivational humps at all, just one speed bump last month when we went flew over to Canada to spend some time in Banff National Park in July. (Worth the speed bump, let me tell you.)
I started in February and paced myself to finish in August, and here I am with 1968 flashcards, 2005 stories, and right on target.
Tzadeck, I been watchin' ya on the members' list. You really move when you move, but then you stop moving for a while. ^_^ But without any question you're done, whether that be this week or in a few weeks. You've gotten far past the point where people who are at all serious give up. Congrats.

It seems everyone, including myself, gets stuck at 1200 ish!

My advice would be to just crank out a hundred and watch your progress meter go up 5 percent. Regardless of how many you remember. Just realizing that you just went over 5 percent of what you have to learn, and you're already more than halfway there is a ton of motivation. It makes the end seem that much closer, and might get you out of that slump.

I think that my periods of movement line up with when the kids at my school are on break--like right now! I'm trying to do 57 a day on average for the next 7 days to finally finish. I don't have much free time this Tuesday and Wednesday so I might have to play catch after those days.
Glad to hear that you're right on target, looks like we spent almost exactly the same amount of time doing the book. You started a few weeks before me, but are a couple hundred kanji ahead of me. Congrats to you as well.
