Going primitive

#1
Thanks for everyone's help with the "state of mind". As a Trekkie, using Data worked well for me. Another primitive I have trouble with is the left side of 行. I don't have problems with boulevard, but "going/line/column" is tough to remember. I know some people use the Flash, which sounds good, but I'm not a big Flash fan. Any other ideas?

How about Q? :)

When I went through that section, I didn't notice any stories posted that used a different keyword than the ones you've already listed. Anything that you can make a vivid image on in your mind will work fine, even if it isn't directly related to 行 ...

I never had problems with that particular primitive but I did have problems with a kanji it appears in, 従. I worked backwards and decided to make the primitive something memorable to help me with this particular kanji, which had the effect of helping all the kanji that contain this primitive. My solution? A line vikings, standing shoulder to shoulder, eager to run into battle. Don't picture them single file, there are already too many kanji about files and rows and what not. Oh, my story for that kanji is below.
The line of viking soldiers is always accompanied by a horn mending specialist (to fix their helmets after a battle.)

Just read PepeSeco's story for indications (FRAME 887) about a mountain king in the Tour de France. Lance Armstrong immediately came to mind. The connection with "going" (cycling, competition), "line" (the pack) and "column" (his straight back) are easily made, and his fight against cancer and multiple straight Tour victories should give ample ammunition to fill out quite a few stories. The related boulevard primitive is of course the Champs Elysees, where the Tour traditionally ends. Yellow jersey though, didn't care much about becoming mountain king, but that's a minor distraction. Big Grin

I used to be a bicycle racer when I was in college, so Lance should be perfect. Thanks!

I hope you enjoy reading my stories then. If this primitive starts to color yellow before your eyes, you're in the right mood. Wink

Quite the Tour (de Force) day for me today. Even used it to teach my students the basics of OOP.
