What software are you using for your virtual machine? I know in VirtualBox you can make shared folders and access them like they are on a network.

I'm learning Ruby (programming language invented in Japan by a Japanese person) by reading the original user guide in Japanese by the creator. Good stuff, too bad the user guide is outdated and some of the examples do not work... Great training though since I'm taking my bachelor in informatics soon and hope to work in Japan. It's even quite usable for beginners since the user guide has been translated into English. It's hardly a 1 to 1 translation, but it's enough to get the gist of it if the Japanese is too hard. The high usage of loanwords help out too, but it's actually way less than expected. Objects are called オブジェクト but things you'd expect to be katakana uses kanji. Stuff like 標準入力 (stdin), 変数宣言 (variable declaration) and 文字列 (string) for example. いい勉強になるはず!

Aha, you got me hooked on this ruby manual too! Btw, the ruby creator is also a katsumoto!
Btw, if you are having trouble with your builds, check "rant". It will give you an excuse to read the ruby manual.

Watched another episode of Peace-Maker Kurogane.
Listening / Watching Deco vs Deco as i review on this site.
Still got sentances to review and new ones to add. Deciding on a Movie to watch later.
Also becoming increasingly annoyed that i can't figure out some of the SF4 ending quotes I mean i know the rough meaning of what the characters i use say but not an exact throw it into the SRS kinda way.

I read some マリア様がみてる and listened to Japanese music, both on my iPod, the interface of which I have also set to Japanese.

Today I watched some Prince of Tennis and Sailor Moon. I'm still pretty new at Japanese, so I'm still searching for a show that has easier language. Sailor Moon seems promising... or maybe it's just easy to understand because I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid.
Like always, I've had radio talk shows playing almost constantly... (at first, I didn't think this would help, but recently, I've been noticing that I can pick up maybe 1 out of every 20 words. I know that's not a lot, but its better than not understanding anything)
And for reading, I read through the first two paragraphs of Harry Potter. This is really challenging for me. I have to look up 4/5 of all the words.
Each day I have a similar plan.. background listening, active listening, and reading.

read the third 単行本 of ちょびっツ, having to look up every second word in a dictionary (though, having read the series in english beforehand really helps). tried reading "ツバサ reservoir chronicle" but, i'm not there yet (the thing is way too complicated to understand with only the pictures and the few words i can read).
watched a couple of episodes of げんしけん and コードギアス 反逆のルルーシュ, of course, i understood nearly nothing of what they said, but still got the gist of what was going on.
tried reading 我儘な大男 (translation of wilde's "selfish giant") but i think i'll have to wait to finish RTK1 and do some sentence srs'ing to be able to understand it :S

I watched the entire 5th episode of Boss despite the lingering feeling of disappointment with the first 2 minutes. Strangely, that's all it takes to kill someone's interest. Or, maybe I'm just a sadist やっぱり。

I've begun sentence mining "Zettai Kareshi" via subs2srs. I'm on my third day, and oddly enough this is my first time at actual sentence mining (before it's been all pre-mined/training sources). Trying a new approach here (that's an old approach for others).
After that, it's reading a bit of Harry Potter book 1, which arrived yesterday. Odd that that's a popular book to read around here.
Of course there's the listening to iPod, but this time I put a week's worth of Yomiuri Shinbun news on it.
