The short description you gave makes it sound quite interesting. Unfortunately I've just started out and there's no way I'd be able to help :-( Can't wait until i can start doing stuff like this though.
Wish I could help!

Wow, you're fast. You have to give us the invitation link in order for us to help edit. There's probably an easier way but the way I did it was to email myself an invitation and then copy the link over here.
I did the 'view' link the same as you did by copying the url of the published text. It's probably not totally necessary to have include the 'view' link, but it's good to have if you want to post it elsewhere like on MH.

All right so I'll de-publish it and do that self-invitation trick.
EDIT: Updated the first post. However I think the "view" option will be restricted to those who have been invited, since it's no more published.

I've started translating the first couple of pages, but I won't be able to work on it very much in the next few days.
Whoever is willing to do it: besides the proofreading of the Japanese part be sure to fix the English translation I made so that it sound natural (English is not my first language, after all).
The words in bold are the ones I'm especially unsure of, in case you noticed.

I've added some translations up through page 8 or so. Bolded things I'm unsure of, esp. for grammar I didn't understand. Having trouble with 卑屈. 卑屈心 doesn't show up in any dictionary I can find, not sure what it means.

I've finally come back home after 5 days and starting tomorrow I'll be able to work a little on this. Glad to see that somebody's contributing.
mullr, your translation is pretty good. I've fixed very few things so far. The definition for 卑屈 in the J-J dic is not very easy for me too, but if I had to make an educated guess from context it should mean something like "self-contempt" or "self-diminishment".
Also, I don't think 卑屈心 is a word per se, but rather the union of 卑屈+心, probably with pronunciation ひくつごころ (but I'm not 100% sure).

Using MacBook Pro's Japanese dictionary:
ひ‐くつ【卑屈】
〘名•形動〙いじけて、必要以上に自分をいやしめること。また、そのさま。「—な笑い」「—になる」
ひくつ【卑屈】
派生語 卑屈な|〔下劣な〕base; 〔追従的な〕servile; 〔こびへつらう〕obsequious
彼は卑屈なやつだ|He is base.
彼は卑屈にへへへと笑った|He laughed [gave] [a servile / an obsequious] laugh.
お前の卑屈な根性をたたき直してやる|I'll teach you to show a little more backbone. / I'm going to knock some pride into you.

I think 卑屈心 would be ひくつしん. Compare:
- 好奇心(こうきしん)
- 無関心(むかんしん)
- 恐怖心(きょうふしん)
It seems to be another word along those lines.

しん (or occasionally じん) seems a more common reading for these type of words, ごころ gave me these:
乙女心(おとめごころ)
子供心(こどもごころ)
出来心(できごころ)
大和心(やまとごころ)
弥猛心(やたけごころ)
出来心 was the only one that came up as a single word for me.
Given that the only kanji that's read ごころ is 心, as opposed to しん which has multiple options, there's not really any other choice with ごころ whether it's right or wrong. (Not to say that is is necessarily wrong, I was just giving an opinion.)

From albion's list one thing is apparent: ごころ seems to be used with kunyomi words only. So しん would be preferred in this logic. Anyway it's not that important for our objective of translating. I'm going to work on it a little now.

I've finished a first rough translation. Someone check the accuracy of the translation (keep in mind that here and there I chose a more natural translation rather than a literal one) and whether the English sounds natural to a native English speaker.

There doesn't appear to be much interest in this project, so maybe we'd better suspend it.

One of the reasons I chose Detective Conan is that I already enjoyed the story and I'd be learning a lot even if I had to do the translations all by myself. If you are enjoying it and/or you are learning something by working through the chapters then maybe you should continue. If you aren't enjoying it and not really learning anything then by all means drop it. I plan to continue with Conan until I get sick of it or i get to the point with my Japanese that it's too easy, which probably won't be for some time. For now I will commit to it at least through the summer.
