Please translate my nickname? :-)

#1
Hello,

since I usually translate my nickname (the original version was in Slovak) I've been wondering for some time about how the Japanese version would sound. Long ago my friend told me it would be 緑色飛行機 [midori iro hikouki] but since then I realized his Japanese is not worth much and I daresay I have surpassed him long ago. I think it's 緑の飛行機 [midori no hikouki]. Of course I can be wrong, or we can both be wrong. I'm still a beginer after all (or lower intermediate, what I like to call myself when I'm feeling smug Tongue)
So which one is it?
BTW I'd like to stick with 緑, and not 青い, since the latter one primarily means blue and I really want to stress the 'green' part ^_^

Japanese people love 4-kanji sets. How about dropping the の?
緑飛行機
I wonder if the pronunciation of midori has now changed to リョク or ロク?
I imagine 緑色飛行機 or 緑の飛行機 might be more easily understood as an airplane of green, but I also imagine that ryokuhikouki sounds cooler.
