I can't seem to find it-you know, the one that requires a monthly fee and that is supposed to be very high quality?

I guess you mean Kenkyusha's New Japanese-English Dictionary (新和英大辞典, Shin wa-ei daijiten)

no your worng-there is some kind of search engine that uses that dictionary and is not illegal, its been mentined on this site before.

Ah, I have the big version on my computer... seems the middle version is quite alright though.

just out of curiosity by "on your computer" do you mean a software version of the dic, or the one online?
