How Long have you been SRS-ing?

#26
I started using Twinkle for RTK in summer, 2007, then my palm died died horribly in Japan and took my Twinkle deck down with it. I started using Anki around summer of 2007 as well for grammar, but not for RTK, mostly because there wasn't a palmOS version at the time. (lol) My farthest cards are pushed out to the 1.8 year mark or so. I started using the SRS on this site in late 2007 after I gave up on getting my palm fixed. (It was a Sony Clie... a fine little machine that gave me admirable service for about 4-5 years until it just couldn't take it anymore.)

I love the stripped-down basic keitai review mode for Anki on my iPhone. That's where I do about 30-40% of my reviews now.

I found this site after someone happended to show me RTK Book. I did a little searching around on the net about the book, and ran across this site. About the same time, I ran into AJATT site as well, so that was my first into to SRS. It sure beats the heck out of all the years in college struggling with the language.

I have made more progress studying on my own with SRS in 1.5 years, then I did in about 5 years of Japanese in college, and that includes one year of study abroad in Japan!!

2007, since I registered on this site, which, btw, I can't thank Fabrice enough for introducing me to SRS-ing. His method of RTK+SRS is truly genius.

I put together my Kanji deck about 6 months ago, and haven't looked back since.
