Why would you report a different part of speech?

I could understand if it's the completely wrong sense, like someone meaning vertical (instead of moral) for 貞 "upright", but the difference between the noun and verb senses of 報 "report", or of using repulsion instead of 拒 "repel" doesn't seem like it's going to mislead anyone.

This seems a little anal as well. I will run today. I will go for a run. I eat a sandwich. I was sandwiched between two trucks. The basic meaning doesn't change.

The only thing worthy of reporting is if something in the story might confuse a reader in how to remember the kanji. If few少 was used instead of small小 perhaps. It is impossible to create 2042 memorable stories without offending someone in some way if you wish to share them. It is our emotional attachment to the stories that make imaginative memory effective. Reports are made meaningless by expanding their use to include personal judgements.
