How is it working for your guys?
I dont think I am really using it, nor paying attention to the start up screen so much.
Here is how I would timebox before, after reading about it on AJJATT:
I always set a clock for 20 mins.I never look at the number of cards I have left while reviewing, cause it is distracting.(I drag anki down so I dont have to see it) In the last five minutes, I take a quick look to see how many cards I have left and try to burn thru as many as possible in that time. Then I take a break and go for another 20.
So I had two ideas for timeboxing:
1. Set a clock for xxx amount of time, and have a pop up clock in the last xxx amount of mintues that does a count down. So you could have the study time set at 20mins, that in the last five you would get a count down clock, kind of as a boast of motivation near the end of a sesion.
or better yet...
2. Wouldnt it be ideal if you could set up your timeboxing to give you a pop up in the last, say 50 cards (adjustable) and a message that says "50 cards left, see how fast it takes you to finish!" And then after that, some numbers showing how long it took you to get thru 50 cards today v.s. yesterday?
feedback?
