Just a quick question: What sort of politeness level is most used on sites like twitter?

I'm sure it's been asked before but I'm never sure...

You generally use futsuukei online, when chatting or what ever. However, if you're having a private conversation with someone, say over mail, you would probably use teineigo unless it's a friend.

I'm going to sound completely stupid now, but what are futsuukei and teineigo respectively?
